I'm reading All Families Are Pyschotic, my family is decidedly
normal.
I worked two charity events for JDRF recently - one of which in a matter
of hours raised 1.5 million dollars. I have enough trouble wrapping my
head around my salary (post-grad-school-ramen-days), nonetheless that
individuals were donating 50k at a time! It's cool, but such a different
world! The second event was a screening of Finding Nemo at Pixar (also
for JDRF) - where the most famous guest was Robin Williams.
News story on the nightly news the other night about all the effort
going into saving animals from being put to
sleep - including fundraisers, raising awareness, etc. While they
reported "live" in front of a shelter about the poor animals, two homeless
men walked by. Yes, the animals are our highest priority?
