Sigh.
I just watched a horrid tv show that epitomizes the ignorance, the crushing hatred that some christians can impose upon others. Christian and gay issues aside, the woman at the heart of it turned out to be a pompous little, erm, woman. Condescending. "I am excellent." "Parenting in an excellent manner means _____."
Wow.
She then followed that with her utter condemnation and lack of understanding of a gay family. Why do people think gay families are promiscious? Why do people think gay families are teaching children immoral things? Isn't it more immoral to teach your children to hate, to discriminate?
As much as I miss the South, part of me loves the diversity of the bay area - and the acceptance of its many facets. It just utterly astounds me the discrimination that persists in its many forms in the US today.

hmmm... where else do we see this last statement applied in the world today?
The first step is exposure. It sure is hard to bash gays when they are your coworkers, friends, family members, etc. That's why segregation had to go, and I think there is hope for the future.
