I bought a new comforter for my duvet. Besides being warmer and much lighter, I also decided I wanted it to stay put in its liner.... so I stitched ribbon loops into the duvet at eight points (four corners & midpoints) and stitched ribbon ties at the same eight points to the comforter.
Mental notes: buy a thimble! It's tough to sewn things into seams!
Anyways, it works great, and I'm glad I did it, but I'd so much rather build shelves or something than sew.
And note to mom: buying the right comforter makes all the difference. My new duvet/comforter is lighter than my old comforter! Both the duvet & comforter are machine washable too.
