Happy Holidays!

I suck - I haven't sent christmas cards in years. Sorry everybody :(

I am completely stressed out - organizing and buying presents early enough to ship cross country, getting ready to go away, taking in another foster dog, and work & church keeps me busy!

I feel very run down and tired. Had a migraine last week, and one day of my stomach problems (gastroparesis). Thankfully, that was only 1-2 days. The rain came this weekend, along with tear-producing cold winds. (Note to Michigan readers: I am a southerner and a wimp, but it was a very wet cold 43 out). The adoption event Saturday (for the foster dog I have) was soooooooo cold.

It is much better, despite the downpour, today. We snuck in one quick walk between downpours. Tillie, my pooch, is whiny about the rain. She is some sort of sherperd mix. VERY affectionate - it'll be hard to let her go - but she is such an easy dog. It is obvious she came from a good home - she's played with kids and 3 lb. poodles without a problem, and loves to cuddle. She has never once tried to get on my sofa! Really, just a sweetheart. A little needy, but that is likely to fade with time - you'd be needy too if you got dumped at the shelter. She'll be spending the holidays at the rescue org since I'll be traveling to see Julian's family.

I'm afraid I've been slacking a bit more on my diabetes and need to try once again to make it a focus. I think my average is back in the low 200's.

I got my first frightening gas bill of the season. I used 3/4 the amount of energy that I did last year, but paid 2X much. Sigh. I am a little surprised at the level of my PG&E bill - I thought because my old apartment was a house, that the costs would be similar. Alas, no.

Mom & I put up new curtains, which I love. Mom & Dad, aka the slaves, were out for a few weeks. They do a lot when they are here, which I greatly appreciate. We cleaned out the basement room to make room for Julian. With new blinds, and being so clean, it looks great!

Theoretically I should send out at least a christmas email.... maybe I'll get to that....
