holiday spirit?

I am decidedly lacking in holiday spirit. I put up my tree - but not the rest of my decorations. Because of a recent injury, I'm not shopping for xmas gifts (yet) - I told the fam they'd get them in Jan! Unfortunately, I have an infected wound - which is healing rather slowly. I still get fevers! It's been 10 days or so. Hopefully that'll clear up soon. I am on high doses (3x/day 500mg) of augmentin.

Thankfully, the weather warmed up! My 'new' house that I bought this year leaks air like a sieve. The gas bill is much higher than I expected -- however when comparing notes with Julian I discovered I also pay a lot more per therm. I don't think my usage is too high; it's a big house, it's an old house, and once you go over your 'limit' of therms, it costs $1.40/therm! My ducts are insulated, the filter is new, and I have a programmable thermostat -- so what else can you do? (Yes, I know I could replace windows but that's outside of my budget!)

I came across a random "it's a small world" link - the girl who used to do the webpage for my old sorority (my job when I was there) shares being an alum of my college, my high school, my sorority. She was also born on the same day (different year) and is a christian. How odd!

I can't wait to go 'home' to Atlanta - it's been YEARS. I'd love to see the campus, and all the changes Alpharetta has incurred. Plus, a new nephew awaits me.

After my incident, which was decidedly less severe than it initially seemed, I have the unfortunate side effect of being nervous around dogs. A golden retriever was off leash the other day and I about crawled into some woman's lap to get out of the way.

Well, that's all for now, I'm off to lunch with the gang. More soon!

Strongest woman in the world

If god gives us trials and tribulations to strengthen us, well, I must be the strongest woman in the world.

How one person can have this much bad luck, this close together, is beyond me.
