Life is Precious

About the same time I was finally "coming out of the closet" about my transplant, I found out devastating news about my closest friend from college. It looks like they might have ALS.

Additionally, a woman who works with the dog rescue I volunteer with, died in a tragic car accident.

We never know when the time may come. Whether it be your health, or an accident, time is precious.

I'm not supposed to travel once on "THE list" - but alas, I need to see my family, and I need to see this friend, who might have ALS. Thus, I haven't cancelled my trip to GA for Christmas as recommended. Shoot me an email if you want to try to get together while I am 'home' - I'll be at my sister's house, reacquainting my self with my "haven't seen you since you were a few weeks old" nephew.

Transplant update

While it's still not a sure thing, things do seem to be moving along nicely.

Insurance will cover it fully. I'm in shock that I am so blessed. In addition, short-term disability coverage while I am off work (another Pixar benefit) will make paying the bills really a non-issue. How amazing is that?

I 'assume' I'll be listed in about 2 weeks - it seems to be all systems go - but like I said before, I still need a few more pre-op tests, like an echocardiogram and/or stress test. I also let Pixar know, and they've been beyond accomodating.

All in all... the Lord seems to have prepared this path for me, and I am blessed.
