My
trip to Italy
In September of 1997, I was lucky enough to be able to
spend a week and a half touring Italy. A good friend of mine, Kim Barron,
and I saw everything from Pompeii to Venice to Florence and Rome. It was
truly a trip of a lifetime. Kim's parents live in Naples and they treated
us fabulously - traveling with us all across the country...
While in Italy, Kim and I traveled with two really awesome people that
the trip wouldn't have been the same without... Mark and Nicole,
Kim's brother and his girlfriend. We took this one on a drive down
the Amalfi Coast one day.
Kim's family rented a minivan and we all drove up to Lake Garda.
Along the way we stopped in a few places the tourists don't usually get
to see. This is in Todi. We stopped here for an amazing lunch
with this view off of the balcony.
Another shot of that balcony.
Another shot of the countryside from Todi, Italy. In case you couldn't
tell, Todi is perched high a-top a mountain.
Who can go to Italy without seeing Venice? This shot was taken just
as the sun was setting from the main bridge across the Grand Canal.
Another amazing view of Venice, Italy.
On the drive from Lake Garda to Florence, we stopped at a winery in Verona.
Col. Barron knew the owner of the winery, Mr. Tommasi. The wine was
some of the best I've ever had and our group ended up buying several CASES.
Kim and I in the Piazza that overlooks the city of Florence. Florence
was definately my favorite place that we visited.
My favorite picture I took on the trip (save the best for last!)... an
amazing shot of Florence, Italy.
