The Scene: College dorm room. Desk, clothes hamper, some cool posters, bookshelf, single window.
The Mood: Initially quiet, then seductive, explosive, back to serene quiet.
Summary: The animation opens to a near pitch black room. Only faint streams of moonlight enter through a window, but no objects in the scene are distinguishable. A computer monitor resting on a desk flickers twice, then "awakens," illuminating the scene. On its screen is a computer animated screen saver. There is a lot of room for development here - it could be a transitioning screen saver that changes when the mood/actions of the scene change. To make clear that it is a screensaver, whenever there is a lot of motion from the monitor, a password prompt box could pop up. The camera zooms in as the monitor swivels from side to side, "looking around." A cord snakes out from behind the desktop computer and heads over towards a laptop resting on the desk. The cord tilts its "head" from side to side inquisitively, then finally taps the laptop twice. The laptop opens an inch... then snaps shut. It does this again before finally slowly opening. The laptop turns right and left to also "look around." It too has a cord sneak out and head towards the other cord. The two cords stand upright like snakes, tilting/twisting/"conversing." They lean in to connect, then jerk back as a loud snore offscreen startles them. They lean in again, and connect. Sparks shoot, and the camera pans right until the computers are offscreen. The screensaver, for example, at this point might simply be a starry fly through space type one. Several flashes of light follow, with electricity crackling until the whole screen turns white in one big flash. We pan back to the desk, to see the monitor wobbling slightly. The laptop, almost closed, snaps shut. The scene is now illuminated by faint streams of daylight through the window. Two smoke streams waft up from each computer, now with dead screens.
